Hi girls,
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the nice sunshine! I was only just thinking about our hot chocolate and donut challenge this morning, fingers crossed we can get back to school as soon as possible so we can earn those final points and have a great big celebratory party <3 Please remember that the homework below is just a suggestion and that you are only ever expected to do your best with it. If you find anything tricky put a circle around it and we will go through it together when we are back at school. This week I have included some Irish. The Bua Na Cainte book can be accessed online for free on the website www.edcolearning.ie. The password for free access is on the homepage, it is:

Optional extra work for week 3:
- SPHE – Family time – ask your parents if you can help them with anything today, it could be housework, feeding your pet or maybe even helping to cook the dinner?
- SESE - Project on favourite animal of choice – Why not take a virtual tour of Dublin Zoo to help you decide :) https://www.dublinzoo.ie/your-visit/interactive-zoo-map/
- English - Readtheory.com – sign up to this website. This is very similar to the SRA comprehensions that we do in school. Once signed up, you will complete a sample comprehension. This will figure out the correct level for you. Once complete, you can start reading as much as you like. Even better you’ve to try and beat your personal best when answering the questions. A fun way to read more every day.
- Reading: This is such a great opportunity to create that love of reading. When I find a book I love, I often find it hard to pull myself away from the book! I could be sitting reading it for hours! I have only suggested 20 minutes of reading in your daily work but you can go over and beyond with this as well! I could often spend hours reading a book if I really loved it :) If you prefer you could listen to an audio book online either, this is also a great way to learn! There are lots of free books available online.
- Gaeilge – practice your reading in Gaeilge by scrolling back through our Bua na Cainte (Green book) book online which is available at edcolearning.ie (username: primaryedcobooks password: edco2020). Pick a different story each day and practice reading it out loud. To challenge yourself even further try and translate the story into English orally.
- Gaeilge: Choose a cartoon of your choice to watch throughout Irish. https://www.tg4.ie/en/player/categories/childrens-tv-shows/
- Watch an episode of News2Day https://trte.rte.ie/news2day/
- Tables – You can never spend too much time practicing your tables. If you are looking for more to do continue to practice your tables and saying them off by heart! The Hit the Button game is brilliant and you can continue to try and beat your personal best. Why not play table champions with your family and see who wins?
- Planet Maths (Online book available on folensonline.ie – I have detailed how to sign up for a free account at the end of a previous blog post titled ‘Notice for parents regarding free online resources’) – If you would like extra Maths work this week complete page 28 – 31 (Maths in a stadium & Mental Maths 1) over the course of the week.
- Free-writing: Choose a topic of your choice and write a story about it. The crazier and more imaginative the better :)
- Extra: Activity of your choice from extra work blog post
